Sri Pada is one of the most sacred religious sites in Sri Lanka. It is located on a high mountain in the Ratnapura District and is a famous destination visited by thousands of pilgrims. The Sri Pada pilgrimage season begins in December and continues until May. During this period, many devotees visit the mountain to worship. Pilgrims usually climb the mountain at night to witness the beautiful sunrise in the morning. The sunrise seen from Sri Pada is very attractive and memorable. The “shadow of the peak” is also considered a special attraction. Therefore, Sri Pada is regarded as a sacred place with great religious and cultural value in Sri Lanka. ✨
